I go to a ublic high school that has an API of over 830 and 10 out of 10 compared to other california public high schools. Do colleges such as CSUs look into this? My GPA is which I'm think is due to the hard studies of my school. My GPA is a 2.5 right now. Is this factored into admissions for cal states or out of state colleges such as oregon or ASU?

I go to a public high school that has an API of less than 620 and 1 out of 10 compared to other california public high schools. Do colleges such as CSUs look into this? (I'm not joking, at least about the API part.)

Course selection and difficulty is looked at by UC/CSU colleges but is not an overwhelming portion of a selection process. Unless you go to a magnet school, or a ultra competitive private school, that won't count for much. It just tells them your live in a fairly affluent, white/asian dominated, most likely suburban neighborhood.

What if I go to a california distinguished school? My school is being given that tomorrow and it'll last 4 years. Top 5% of public schools in Cali get it i believe.

It's important I'd think, but the 2.5 GPA will still scare away alot of colleges. If you can bring it up to around 3 and couple it with some great test scores then you should be fine.
