Admissions

I have been looking at the Undergraduate admissions page, and saw that St.Johns Annapolis is against the publication of statistics? (Or something along those lines...only had time to skim read) Basically, I am trying to get an idea of the selectivity of the school. Can anyone give me any information in regards to the difficulty/admittance rate?

It really is self-selecting. If you should be here, you'll get in. If you shouldn't, you won't. I don't know if they are officially against statistics now (they weren't when I came), but I know they are against participating in the surveys in places like US News and World Report. The college presidents wrote a wonderful letter to US News about why they don't participate in the rankings. You can read that here: St. John’s College | About | College Rankings & St. John’s College

When I was applying, I remember being told that 80% of people are accepted. Since then, I've heard rumors that that rate has decreased, but I don't know for sure. If you think the college is right for you, then apply. If not, don't. Don't just apply because you think its easy to get into and you want a definite school to add to your list. My class is down over a third since the beginning, and so it continues to be self-selecting even when you get here.
