With notifications 3 weeks away, just curious what you and your fellow admissions folks are doing now... Is the bulk of the decision work completed and you're just discussing a few additional candidates at this point? Or are you still in the midst of full-on decision meetings? When do the decision meetings wind up for you?

As promised in our previous entry, we wanted to provide an update on how things are proceeding in the Admissions Office right now. Clearly this is a hectic time as the Operations team works on completing the last files and the Counseling team (a.k.a. the Admissions Committee) finishes the "first-reads." The next three weeks are the most crucial for us as we meet in our committees and thoroughly discuss the candidates, ultimately making those all important final decisions.

Thanks for the link!

Working very, very, very hard. Pretty much the last week and the following week and a half is a time when the Admissions team meets in committees to make sure final decisions are what they should be. This is a time that we call "shaping the class" -- determining what our final admit rate will be and which students will make the cut.

Personally, I have been working with Engineering cases for the past week and will be involved with the BME selection process later next week.

In addition, the Operations teams is beginning the process of confirming applicant details and preparing for the stuffing of the mail - which is a week-long process in itself.

Pretty much myself and my colleagues are on a 24/7 schedule right now.

Sounds exhausting! Are things still on track for emails to be sent to applicants on 3/29?

As of right now, yes we are still targeting March 29 as the mail/email date. If things change I will update everyone, and post on the Hopkins Insider blog.
