Waitlisted: NOWHERE!!!
Rejected: NOWHERE!!!

Wow, I'm in shock that things turned out like this!!!!

Wow.. how are you going to decide?

I have NOOOOO clue. I don't really know what to do at all. I never really had a dream school, so my philosophy was just to apply everywhere and see where I got in, but that obviously didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Accepted:
UMD College Park (full tuition) - and attending
American (22k a year)
GW (20k a year)
Johns Hopkins
Cornell

Waitlisted:
Carnegie Mellon

Denied:
University of Penn. (I applied to business so I was expecting the rejection)
Duke
Georgetown

definitely not UCLA or Berkeley. I like pomona, swarthmore, and the ivies. What's your major? That'll help

I'm thinking Public Health, Latin American Studies or Math.

Right now I'm kinda leaning towards Yale. Does that make sense? I just think that I want a bigger school than Swarthmore or Pomona.

check the ivies' course catalog. And another thing that I find most important is the school's grad. rate. Google it and I'm sure the U.s News report will give you something (also there's graduationwatch.org. A site I find very helpful). Also go with your gut feeling. If it doesn't feel right then don't go

Accepted: Amherst, Bowdoin, Middlebury, William & Mary, and Virginia Tech
Waitlisted: Swarthmore
Rejected: Dartmouth

I'm probably going to go to Middlebury, but it'll be hard to turn down Amherst and Bowdoin.

Acceptances:
UVA
Vanderbilt
JMU
GMU
Boston University
Morehouse College - Full Scholarship
Hampton Univ - Full Scholarship
Northeastern - 15k/year Scholarship
Ohio Wesleyan
Chowan University
William and Mary

Rejections:
Harvard

so thats.. 11/12

Well here's the final list (it feels a bit weird to be done actually). As it turns out, every single one of the predictions I made (including the waitlisted at Haverford and rejected early by Swarthmore) came true.

ACCEPTED:
Vassar College
Franklin & Marshall College (12K/year)
Ursinus College (17.5K/year)

WAITLISTED:
Haverford College

REJECTED:
Swarthmore College (ED)
Amherst College
University of Pennyslvania

So I guess my final "record" was 3-3-1. I'm currently planning on attending Vassar (am visiting one more time to make sure I can see myself going there before I send in the decision).

ACCEPTED:
University of Miami
University of South Carolina
University of Pittsburgh
University of Delaware
Virginia Tech
Indiana University - Bloomington
Penn State - University Park

REJECTED:
None

7/7

ATTENDING:
Absolutely no clue!!!

ACCEPTED:
Rollins- Attending
University of Florida

WAITLISTED:
Johns Hopkins
Duke
Dartmouth

REJECTED:
Yale
Princeton

Waitlists are so dumb. They are basically "soft rejections." I was surprised I didn't get into any of my OOS schools, but I only thought I would get into two at the most. Rollins is a great school, and I really like it more and more every time I visit (plus the scholarship I get is nice).

ACCEPTED:
University of Vermont
Brandeis
Willamette
UC Davis
UC Irvine
UC Santa Barbara
UC San Diego

WAITLISTED:
Skidmore
Boston College

REJECTED:
Vassar

STILL WAITING:
Reed
Whitman

Vassar was one of my top choices, so I'm bummed, and Reed is my number one...I am trying to prepare myself for more rejection. erhswimming - I couldn't agree more about waitlists.

ACCEPTED:
Boston College
Colgate College
SUNY at Binghamton
University of Pennsylvania
