Does anyone know what the acceptance rate was for this year's class? All that has been released so far is below 20%.

where did u get that information from? i'm just curious since i really don't know either.

School released it to the press.

It's probably around 18%; they had between 22000 and 23000 applicants, and assuming around a 33% yield, that would mean they would need to accept about 4000 applicants for a class of 1350 kids.

How about the transfer acceptance rate?

probably lower than last year (25%) because of the housing/population crunch. I would guess it's going to be between 20-23%.

wow that's tough, I here they do accept some people off the waitlist though.

They didn't accept anyone off of the waitlist last year, and this year they've announced that they're accepting fewer students than previous years to control the population (which has been getting overcrowded).

Yes, but this year they also accepted less and waitlisted more.

I was at Wash U earlier this week and overheard an admissions woman talking to someone on the waitlist. She said that last year no one was admitted from the waitlist but this year they were instructed to admit fewer kids so they plan to accept more from the waitlist. That's what I heard....
