Admit Weekend 2007!

I hope you guys are excited - it's going to be awesome! Please use this forum to post any questions you have about the weekend. Or, if you have any suggestions on how we can make it even more awesome for you, let me know! I'm the Head Hoho (House Host) in Casa Zapata this year, and I'm working with over 100 other students to make this weekend amazing for you. Get ready to start your Stanford experience come April...

Should I go? I have a conflict, and am wondering how important Admit Weekend is. I'm pretty sure I want to go to Stanford.

Only you can decide if your conflict is more important to you than Admit Weekend, however I can tell you that if you do come, you won't regret it. I went last year having already committed to coming to Stanford. For me it was a chance to get to know the school from the inside, to meet current students, and to meet my future classmates. I am now good friends with several of the people I met at my Admit Weekend. And even though I was sick the whole time (I even got to check out the Stanford Hospital ER), I still had a great time. Good luck with your hard decision.

Heck yes I'm coming!!! :D

same here. i've only been to cali once, and that was when I was 13. Stanford looks gorgeous and I can't wait to visit.

Oh man, getting sooooo excited! Can't wait for a break from school to spend time in nice weather and meet amazing people!

Yay! Feel free to PM me as the time nears; I'm willing to meet up with you, show you around, and try to answer any questions that the hosts in your dorm may not be able to. I promise I'm a nice, authentic Stanford student ;) ask pyleela if you have any doubts about my identity =p Hope you all have a great time!

^she speaks true! :D heehee

I am definitely going!

What is the schedule for admit week? i know it has been asked before, but this seems like the appropriate thread.

All the info will be on http://admit.stanford.edu on April 1st. It's there now, too, but it's not the completed website. It's an incomplete one for us Earlies. ;)

I = d4h pWn4g3 HoHo. Which means I'll be your house host and more or less responsible when you come visit, at least if you're placed into Serra.

Yay Serra! I live there too, and it's a wonderful dorm, but I'm not a HoHo or RoHo.

jwj... why are you awake at 5:33? Or were you still up after watching the movie?

You see, I feel that getting no sleep by choice rather than by force of work is my way of expressing alpha-male dominance over finals now that they're over. This is important, you see.

Hey..what do you guys have planned for the parents?

Oh man, I <3 you Serra folk! ;)

As students, we're only planning activies for students during the weekend. There are things for parents, but I'm not sure what they are. We're mostly concerned with making this weekend incredible for YOU! Do you have any requests or ideas for the programming?

Um...I dont want my mom to be stuck in the hotel all wkd..but i dont her tagging along to all the events..Im sure wateva you guys do will be great for her and me

You can see your mom when you make time to, but all of the dorm events and most of the schedule programs are for students only. You will get plenty of time to experience living on your own with other awesome Stanford students!

I know that 3 years ago, there was a financial presentation for the parents... I don't remember anything else.
