<p>Is it easier to get into NYU School of Arts and Sciences than Tisch ? And if so, can you apply to NYU A and S first, then transfer into Tisch after a year or so?</p>
<p>Much easier, but transferring within NYU is harder than applying directly (at least for Stern it is).</p>
<p>It’s apples and oranges, because Tisch requires an artistic review, whether as a freshman or internal transfer. It is harder to get into Tisch because of that – and the more limited numbers than in CAS. If you really want Tisch, but opt for the “safer” route of CAS, you better be prepared to stay in CAS the whole time. Tisch does offer some courses to other NYU students through its “open arts” curriculum.</p>
