I just received admission at Depauw University and am thrilled, but I did not receive sufficient merit aid. I was offered 19 k per year for four years and that leaves me to pay 38.5 k myself every year. In my financial aid application I said I can contribute with about 25 k per year (state loans and summer jobs). How normal is it for international students to also get need based financial aid at Depauw U?

Instead of asking here, you need to contact the school directly and try to negotiate more FA. Sometimes that works - sometimes it doesn’t. Not getting sufficient FA is a major reason why many international students don’t end up going to the school that accepted them.

What you say you can pay doesn’t matter at all. What the college/university believes your family can afford does. When you speak with the people at Depauw, ask about how they evaluated your family’s financial situation. They will be able to tell you.
