Admitted but without major??!! HELP!

I just realized that my acceptance letter said that I'm admitted to Muir College, but it failed to mention the major that I'm admitted to. My friend who was admitted to Thurgood Marshall was admitted with a major in Economics, and I had requested a major when I applied. Is this bad? Why don't I have a major listed?
Please help!!

There’s no rush to declare a major. Relax. All of them are open to you, and if it happens to be impacted, you’re at no bigger disadvantage than one of your peers with a major.

So what exactly does it say following “On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students of the University of California, San Diego – congratulations on your admission to Muir College …” ? Because most of them have a major immediately following that sentence.

You’re undeclared.

It ends at that sentence. It says exactly that and then it just stops. And why would I be undeclared if I did declare a major and an alternate major? Does this mean that I won’t get into my major or is it because Muir has low GE requirements so they don’t need me to declare a major?

Were both of your declared majors impacted?

I remember declaring Biology and some other biological science (human biology?). If they are impacted, what does that mean? Like, how does that affect my class sign-ups and stuff like that? If I decide to go to UCSD, does that mean I won’t get my major or will it just be harder for me to transfer into that major later on?

All biology majors are impacted. It means that you will have to take some (or all? not sure) of the lower division requirements before you can apply again. I have no idea how difficult it is to get in (someone else should touch on that.)

If you did not get into your majors declared, they put you in as undeclared.

If your major is impacted, I believe you apply into your major after your first year and you can only apply if you finish certain courses. Then they admit by GPA i believe.

Yes, as long as you are in, you can worry about a major later. Most people change theirs a few times anyway.
