Your stats sound a lot like mine, and I was admitted ED. Make sure your essays and rec. letters are really solid, and you should have really good chances. Best of luck!

@tennismom: Congratulations to you and your son! I’m sure that you both have worked hard to get him into Wake. Best of luck to him and your family in this exciting time!

@Everyone else: I wish you all the best as well! You will love Wake if you decide to attend, trust me!

What are the chances of getting in once you are deferred?

hi wake forest had received all of my stuff by 10/28 and i still havent hear back from them. i called and they said that they do have everything and they just havent made a decision yet. any idea of when ill be hearing back. and also: is this a bad thing?

can someone please answer asquared92’s question about deferrals??

I sent in my app towards the end of August…and I got admitted by the last wk of September. If you still havent heard, I would call.
My stats:
GPA= 3.7 (un weighted, IB full diploma cand.)
Test optional
A ton of extra currics.
I hope this helps!

should i apply to wake?? my gpa is 3.96 and i won’t send my scores in
is a ton of weight placed on the 9 or so short answer supplements?! i haven’t visited or interviewed…will that hurt me??
i’m an officer in NHS, for my Sr. Class, i’m in Mu Alpha Theta, Student Ambassador, Pro-Life Club, Volleyball Manager, Freshman Basketball team, 3 years of theater production (with lead roles), Swin Instructor Jr. and Sr. Year, 100+ community service hours, mission trip, AP Scholar, 7 APs total, 4s on Bio, Eng Lan, and US History. Taking Eng Lit, Gov, Econ, and Calc AB this year. I’ve received serveral Oustanding Performance awards in classes, honor roll every qtr, OUTSTANDING common app essay and counserlor and teacher recs!

what do yall think??

What is Wake Forest known for being good at? Business?

I applied (and was accepted to Wake E.D) with a 3.78 so your GPA is solid. There is a lot of weight put on the short answers so I would perfect those and interviews are “highly recommended” so if you have not done one I would suggest at least doing the online written one. Everything else on your credentials look solid. I actually applied to Wake because of the Business school, which you apply to for your junior year. It is a heavy liberal arts school and has amazing study abroad programs.
Overall I think you have a good chance so I would apply!

awesome! thank you so much! i registered for an interview on skype and it said i would receive a confirmation email but i haven’t received one yet…? i finished all of my essays today! (i thought they were a bit overkill) but feel that they were creative and show my personality. I am also OOS coming from a private school, does that hurt at all? that’s great! maybe i’ll see you there! i hear north carolina is gorgeous!

Wake Forest is a private university. In general private universities do not place a lot of emphasis on OOS vs. IS. I was also from a private school so I do not think it will hurt at all.

ok cool. if i didn’t get a confirmation email then is my interview not going to occur?

^^I’m pretty sure their admission office is closed, and they’ll start scheduling skype interviews again once the office reopens. Interviews can take place up until January 23rd (correct me if I’m wrong, I think that’s the date.)

when did you register for your interview? the admissions office is closed from dec 23 to jan 4th so they’re not really sending out consistent emails now. if you dont hear after the 4th, call them or send in another interview request. you can interview up until jan 31.

oohhh ok thanks. i think i requested it on dec 22nd.

has anyone gotten rejected ED?

People do get rejected ED. I know of someone who did.

do you know anything about there stats?
