Admitted Eagle Day suggestions?

I am attending Admitted Eagle Day this Sunday. It is my first time to Boston and to BC. My dad and I land Saturday afternoon and fly back out about 6pm on Sunday, so we don’t have a ton of time. Does anyone have any recommendations on what to do with the time so I can get the best feel for BC and where I might spend time as a student there?

Below is a link to the schedule at BC Sunday with what they have planned for us. One thing in particular I may want to do is to eat at BC on Sat night since I am not sure we are doing that on Sunday.
Thanks!

Here is the link I mentioned.

Congrats on your acceptance. You should take the t line to Boston Commons and walk around. My daughter goes there alot when she has some free time. There’s a relaxing feeling to just walking around the city unlike New York. And if you have a chance to go to north end (walking distance from the Commons). There you can have some great pasta in a quaint Italian restaurant. I know your time in Boston is limited but go there even if it’s late in the evening so you can have the full experience of what is available to you as a student.
My daughter has had an amazing experience at BC. Go Eagles!
Good luck!

there’s a hockey game against maine that you could go to on saturday or sunday night

The games are actually Friday and Saturday night. According to the Athletics web site, both games are sold out.

Great suggestion. I think we will take the T from BC for sure. Thank you!

Dear appzilla : Let’s put it this way - Boston will be an amazing experience … and not the experience you need to live on this trip. You will have about 24 hours “in town” and you have to do everything to learn more about Boston College.

My advice in addition to the tours and such :

[1] Experience a meal in the Lower Live Commons.
[2] Walk from middle campus to upper campus and walk around those dorms, the home to 60% of freshmen.
[3] Board the BC Bus and make your way over to the Newton Campus where 40% of freshmen are housed. Have a meal or snack at Stewart Dining Hall.
[4] Tour Gasson Hall and the O’Neill Plaza no matter how cold the area - a walk through Gasson will help you understand more about Boston College.
[5] See if you can get tickets to the Maine Hockey game if you are in town. You want to understand the Division I sports scene and the student sections? No better way to achieve just that.

Learn about the campus and the students - Boston will still be there.

Great advice! I plan to do pretty much what you suggested. I may take the T just to see what it’s like (I live in rural WI, so a T is new to me). I am also hunting for Hockey tickets. I really appreciate the advice.

We were just able to buy two tickets to the hockey gave on Sat night on the BC Marketplace for about $20 each!

Thats great! Its such a big thing at BC. It should be really fun…you must know all about hockey being from WI. And the weather won’t be a big deal for you! Enjoy.
