youwillsee1: congratulations and good luck to you at Harvard!

What’s HPME Obese? By the way I’m an Ethiopian too (writing this from Addis Ababa.)

Congratulations – what an honor to be admitted to Harvard! I am excited for you!

I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!! Btw I do believe in the “Evil Eye”… envious people can hurt. But it is all about being humble, happy, and true to your self. CONGRATZ! CHEERS FORM PERU!!! hope to see you next fall hahahahahaa

Congratulations!!! This is so amazing!!!

If you believe in the “evil eye”, read The Cask of Amontillado
Ever since I read it, I’ve been seeing all my friends as “Montresor” in my mind.

Hhahahaha how disturbing…

Good for you OP! Congratulations.

but, seriously, should I call the admissions counselor back and just make sure it wasnt a mistake or anything???

^ I don’t think they’d make a mistake Now quit worrying and go out and celebrate ;)

OMG I have the exact same stats as you (basically) down the race and situation. I hope I have a chance too.

this is the biggest ■■■■■ thread ever. ■■■■■

trust me, harvardlite, I would call myself a ■■■■■ too; I am still surprised and shocked which is why I might call the admissions officer tomorrow just to verify if I was indeed accepted.

the whole point of likely letters is to grant them to students who have a special hard-to-find potential that is difficult to find at other schools. unless ur essay was extraordinary or u did something extraordinary… I see little reason why Harvard would go out of their way to accept you early.

i came up with a theory after searching a bit more around CC…I come from a low-income family and I think harvard sends likelies to a lot of low-income admitted students because they are more likely to commit to a state school or something than reach for harvard. But, my essay was pretty damn good (I spent over 6 months on it) and my extracurrics although not very prestigious did show my ambitious nature.

I looked at ypur previous posts & profile.

According to your profile you are 25???you are still in school?? what happened ?

Are you really 25 youwillsee1?

^i changed it to avoid any more confusion. I am 17.

^Why did you change your birthday?

because i am 17, not 25 and my b-day showed 25 because i probably just randomly chose it or thought i had to be 18 when i signed up.
