I just received my financial aid package today, so now I'm seriously considering UNC. Decision days is tomorrow so there's no way I could make it, but would going to Carolina Bound, even though I'm still undecided, still be productive? I've never been to UNC before, so I need to visit before making a decision obviously.

You REALLY do need to visit before making a decision. You will do yourself a great disservice if you don’t.

I have to agree. I never though visiting would make a difference for me, but I fell in love with Carolina after the first time I set foot on the campus.

I know that I need to visit, but my question is whether I should go to Carolina Bound, which is a day for kids who have already decided on UNC, even though I haven’t decided yet. Will it still be informative as a prospective student?

If you can, I would try to go to the one for admitted students, not necessarily the one that is for people that have already decided to go there. I can’t remember if there were two different ones last year, but I would PM cloying or UNCgal if you can find them. I think they have worked in the admissions office.

Regardless, coming to visit the campus would benefit you, even if it was for students that have accepted. You get a feel for the campus’s amazing atmosphere, get a chance to ask any questions that you might have in person, and have the opportunity to speak to random students. One of my favorite things to do is talk to prospective students and their parents when I see them on campus (they are usually easy to spot because they are looking at a campus map :P).

I think visiting at any point would be helpful – you should be able to arrange tours, hosting with current student, etc. through Undergraduate Admissions at any time from now until May 1, not just the pre-arranged days.
