If you have been accepted, are you planning to try to attend one of these days? I promised my son IF he got into UM, we would visit before he has to make a decision, so just signed up for an Admitted Students Day over his spring break... I'm excited to see UM and I think he really is, too. Any current students who attended one with any tips/advice for our visit?

If I remember correctly, the Campus Day is a full day program. It starts early in the morning and ends around 3:30. If you are making it a day trip, then there is not much time to do anything else.

If you are going to spend the evening in Ann Arbor or spend parts of the day before or day after, I would use the time to explore the campus. You can look on the course guide and see if there is a class you may want to attend. You can explore the area around campus and see the restaurants and shopping areas. You should check to see what events are going on around campus while you are there such as sporting events.

If your son has a friend who goes to U-M, he may want to stay with the friend to get a sense of what it is like to live on campus. U-M does not arrange for overnights.

There are other threads on this board that discuss visiting Ann Arbor that provide useful information.

You should also look at the program for Campus Day because I think at some point they break into smaller groups and you may want to think about which group you want to go into.

Thanks @res ipsa! We are going to be there for an extra day, so I will check some of that out… :)

Son and I attended a Campus Day program last year and thought it was very worthwhile. Yes, if you can spend an extra day and check out Ann Arbor, that is time well spent. It’s a great college town!
