If I attend an admitted students day, do I have to register there?
No. It’s the school’s chance to sell you on them, rather than the other way around.
registration day is handled differently by different schools. Your communiques from the colleges will clearly state what’s in what program. Like Chedva said: most Admitted Students days are mega productions to get you to agree to matriculate.
Some school require that you register in advance for the admitted student day because they often provide lunch. The process is different at different schools.
I think there needs to be some clarification of “register” here. OP, you do mean simply signing in to the event, right? Not agreeing to attend the college? If the latter, then absolutely not… Admitted Students day is just a time to learn more about the school to decide whether you want to attend. If the former, then, why would you not want to sign into an event you were attending?
@staceyneil I meant that if I attend an admitted students day, do I have to register that day to attend the school? Or can I just attend as a student considering attendance?
That’s what I thought you might mean… no, absolutely not. Admitted Student Days are simply an event for you to learn about the school. Many, many students attend these events as a way to learn more and choose between multiple schools they have been admitted to. Attending one does NOT mean that you intend to choose to enroll in that school. That decision is made by replying to the admissions letter you received, by the date the college gives you. Again- attending an Admitted Student Day IN NO WAY means you have to enroll there.
Don’t be confused by “registering” for the Admitted students day. If the college wants you to do that, it’s just so they know how many people are coming to the event that day. It does NOT mean you are enrolling there!!! as you say, you are just a student considering attendance.
