Did anyone else get an invatation for admitted students? I got an email inviting me today.

“You and your parents are invited to our upcoming Receptions in Denver, San Francisco, Phoenix, Houston, Portland, Dallas, and Seattle. These events will serve to honor the Pepperdine admitted students for the Fall 2010 term”

yea i got it too, but i haven’t been notified about admittance at all.

and i dont think its a message specified for those areas cause im from ny

What time did it come? Has anything changed on your wavenet account? I am so jealous!

no nothing has changed on my wavenet

Nothing Has Changed on my wavenet and the email came this morning

Congrats Michaln and Australia! I’m positive you guys were accepted if they invited you to an admitted students reception! Unfortunately, I didn’t get that email so im anticipating a rejection…sigh.

In a thread entitled “Pepperdine acceptance letters?” started 03/11/09, there is a discussion of a similar email. Here’s a quote from one poster:

"Actually, I got that reception email too. I didn’t even apply. I am a junior. I just have a generic account that you have to create to receive information. "

So, Korhawaus, I hope that means we’re still in the running!!

I hope so also because I didn’t get an email either.

Don’t Panic…My daughter who is a current Freshman at Pepperdine did not receive this “admitted students reception” email last year either. I remember last year at this time she was in the same situation as all of you “waiting to hear” applicants. We also noticed on this site other applicant’s who had received that particular email last year and my daughter had not…but she still got in!
Pray, pray, pray…God has a plan for each and everyone one of you out there!

My daughter got this and I just called. A very nice young lady answered the phone and apologized for the confusion. She said that some people have two “files” in the system, one as a prospective student and another as an applicant. If these two have not been merged, which she said does happen occasionally, then an applicant would have received this particular email which was supposed to be sent to prospective students only. She confirmed very clearly that this was in no way an acceptance for those who got it, which, I guess is both good and bad, depending on whether you got it or not! Sorry about this news to those who got it, but at least we know what it means.

Thanks for clearing that up guys…what a relief! i thought i was pretty much rejected already! but how would they have a prospective student account if they are just an applicant?

I think people who got this email got accepted already, because they can’t invite you to an ADMITTED students reception then give you a rejection. thats just wrong. but for those who haven’t got this email, i think it just means a decision hasn’t been made for us yet…so cheers to waiting! (hopefully)

I knew It was to good to be true… Thanks for clearing it up guys!

I have a son who has applied to Pepperdine and a daughter that is a HS Junior and a prospective student. My daughter, the junior, received the email, not my son. I believe it’s only for prospective students.
