My son is arriving Sunday morning and will fly out Monday evening. I had hoped he would get a call from his host before attending. That is the way it has worked with other schools.
I expect the detailed schedule to be posted soon, as that is what my son’s admissions officer said when she made her congratulatory call to him.

@ Adelaide-
when i attended, i got a call from my host a couple of days before prefrosh weekend to set up where i would meet her. i signed up to host prefrosh this year, and haven’t received any information about who i’m going to be hosting- i expect i’ll get that soon, after which i’ll make some calls :)

D got facebook “friended” by her host this afternoon.

^

I guess your child already knows who her host is…I signed up for the prefrosh weekend and never received word about my host…any suggestions as to why? Did you take an extra step to ensure that your child had a host…when did the host contact her?

Thanks.

I am guessing that the hosts are beginning to learn who their guests will be. It may be though that there are no specific rules about how and when the host and guest first contact each other. We took no extra steps, just the same online registration as every other student and D’s first and only contact has been being facebook “friended” today. The friending came with an explanatory note attached to it stating that she was my daughter’s prefrosh host.

^ thanks :)

I’ll be checking my facebook feverishly. lol.

Keep in mind that facebook may not been your host’s method of choice. It certainly could be phone or e-mail as well.

Yeah, I got an email a few hours ago. Don’t think my host has a facebook :/

We just got emails about the prefrosh we are hosting earlier today. Planning to call/email the girls I’m hosting sometime tomorrow.

@laststopforme No facebook? That’s a bit concerning. If your host turns out to be a bit anti-social, don’t let that keep you from having a fun prefrosh!

CS 50’s Prefrosh Lecture

[This is CS 50](http://www.cs50.net)

"CS 50 now fulfills Gen Ed’s Empirical and Mathematical Reasoning requirement.

A prefrosh, are you? RSVP for CS 50’s Prefrosh Lecture on Facebook."

A terrific event:

supposedly the Early Action party is the ‘biggest party of the year’

Never heard of the “early action party”. I don’t believe that I saw it on the list of events, etc. Details?

^ Early Action

apparently Eleganza is the other really big event, along with the Ballroom Dancing thing

If you arrive on Friday, go to "[Get Yo’ Jollies](<a href="http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=95365473635"]Get">http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=95365473635)." No use asking what jollies are…just go.

Saturday night, you might want to hit up the 80s dance or Eleganza. ETA: or Early Action.

What’s up Sunday night?

damn Dunster is so far away… def not going to Get Yo Jollies then…

hm… who thinks I should go to Early Action? or should I go to 80s dance instead?

Dunster’s really not that far, and it’s worth the walk, especially since the weather will be nice and the river view is beauteous! Or you could take a 2-minute shuttle ride. Yes, Dunster/Mather have shuttles to/from the Yard!

If you’re not into traveling far…just to warn you, there’s a prefrosh activities fair on Sunday in [the Quad](<a href=“http://www.map.harvard.edu/mapindex.cfm?mapname=camb_allston"]the”>http://www.map.harvard.edu/mapindex.cfm?mapname=camb_allston). I think Harvard’s been trying to get students used to going to the Quad as early as possible. But fortunately, there are also Quad shuttles!
