So, I’m creating a thread for Beloit prospective students. I’m in the process of getting my FAFSA sent to Beloit so I can see if I can afford it.

I think I’m about 80% sure I will attend Beloit, because of cost and other schools that I’m waiting for decisions on. At this point, I really hope it was 100%, but the cost thing is holding me back. I’ll be getting RDs from around 10 more schools in April, but most likely none of them will accept me…if even one of them does and I can swing the aid, then I’m not sure what will happen. Otherwise I’d say Beloit for sure.

You guys? I know you’re out there! It’d be cool if I could meet other potential classmates before orientation!!!

Anyone going to the accepted students days? We’d love to hear about your experiences!

I’m going to the open house in April!!! SO EXCITED!!!1

Glad to hear that you’ll visiting, rbouwens! We just had our first Admitted Students Days this past weekend, which seemed to go really well. I hosted two prospies, and they both said that they enjoyed it. All the prospies and hosts got a free dinner, and after that, there were quite a few events planned, including an ice cream social, a show by the campus’s improv group, card games, whatever club meetings normally happen on Sunday nights (like Interfaith), and a game of ultimate frisbee. In my dorm, we also had a bunch of people watching Sherlock in the lounge. The next day, the prospies got to visit classes.

From what I’ve heard, there are also quite a few other fun things planned for the upcoming Admitted Student Days.

I hope you enjoy your visit! :D

Thank you so much!! That sounds like so much fun!!!

Ahh!!! I was just accepted! So excited!

just got accepted too! like you i’m 80% sure. haha hope to see you all this fall

I’m going to the April open house. I really am looking forward to it, since I heard the campus is beautiful

Congratulations to those accepted to Beloit! My daughter graduated in 2010, and she still misses Beloit! She had a wonderful experience there, academically and socially, and still keeps in touch with her professors there. She also made terrific friends (she just Skyped with a bunch of friends from Beloit tonight). And, she graduated with an amazing resume thanks to the Center for Entreprenership and the other great opportunities Beloit offers.

Beloit is a very special place where you can truly find yourself while getting a top notch education. Best wishes to everyone headed to Beloit next year - you are in for the adventure of a lifetime!

So glad to hear that your daughter had a positive experience! Hard to believe that she has already graduated. Boy, time flies.

In my opinion, Beloit offers both unique challenges and opportunities. Even after all of these years, Beloit always seems to be in flux – a half-finished project. There is a “by the seat of your pants” quality to Beloit that I have not really encountered anywhere else at an established liberal arts college. Perhaps Hampshire or College of the Atlantic share that kind of energy. But I don’t really know those places like I know Beloit. The benefit of such a place is that every student feels, believes and can put their own stamp on the school. If you want your educational path clearly spelled out prior to your matriculation, Beloit may not be the place for you. However, if you are comfortable making your own way (with lots of help from caring faculty), then I can’t imagine a better place to be.

Echo that Carolyn. My DD graduates this year. Was accepted to every graduate school she applied to except one. Headed next year to a top ranked program with merit money. The terrific profs at Beloit bent over backwards to bring her internship, research and teaching opportunities. She got into every class she wanted and was able to double major while also having fun with an unofficial art minor.

HI there ! i was kind of hoping you would help me
I’m studying at an engineering school (industrial engineering) in morocco and was hoping to go study at Georgia Tech or the university of michigan after my diploma to get a master degree.
so i was hoping you would tell me how to do it? do i just sign in there ? and what tests should i take ? what scores should i get ?
and does my country have to have a convention with these schools so that i can be able to aply there ?
and could you please tell me how do we pay for tuition fees (all at once or monthly…)
thank you so much for your help and time. any information could be helpful.
