I didnt say that jamminjb did, you big meany lol.

You're right Farb, my mistake. Congrats on getting such a nice scholarship by the way.

1370, 3.8, my school didn't rank...and i got in with some scholarship too and my SATII were not to hot so...but excited i got in...not sure if i'm going to go but still pumped to get in

Of course having great SAT IIs isn't the only thing that they look at, but every college book I have read said that they are more important than the SAT I. Also, during the information session at the school, they all stressed SAT IIs. I'm not trying to upset anyone, just telling people what I know.

look just so you know jamminjb, i got a 390 on my SAT 2 US History and I made University scholar. ****ing terrible. so trust me SAT 1 is WAY more important, plus thats what goes into USNEWS and all those publishings, i think SAT 2's are for placement only.

Hahah ok fine.

Farbdogg, I'm honestly curious as to how you got the University Scholar award. Not that you aren't qualified or anything, but your stats just don't really fit the profile given to me by U Richmond. I mean, I have better SATII's and GPA, and I have a buttload of unique EC's and I did not get nominated for anything. Something must really stand out-- do you do some EC or volunteer activity that is extraordinarily unique?

you dont get nominated, you just send in an extra essay, did you check off the box and do the second essay on the app? cuz i got a little hand written note saying how spectacular both my essays were and congratulating me on earning this award. btw- even though i did get a 390 US History, i got 750 on SAT 2 wrting and 770 SAT 2 Math 2C

but i think it helped since I fell in love with richmond my junior year so I know lots of ppl in the office, and until recently I have emailed with the associate dean of the business school for over a year now on new things that are happening and how things are going over there (basically scoring points with character/personal traits, although I really did enjoy it).

Yes, I did that. I got a letter that said I wasn't selected as a finalist for any of the scholarships for which I applied. I guess my essays just sucked. But whatever, I'm going to W&L anyway. It's friggin expensive, but not as expensive as U Richmond is now after they raised their tuition $8k.

good stuff i got into W&L too, but its overly conservative and too small for me

I agree farbdogg71 I started applying to W&L and then realized how incredibly small it was, so I never did the second half of it.
