I understand that there is a sort of preview day for admitted students. What exactly happens and is it imperative for someone to go? Is this where one signs up for housing and things of that sort or is this more of a club and organization thing? Thanks.

It is a little bit of everything, basically to demonstrate that Pepperdine is the right choice...the final sale! Housing and classes come later. I think housing is in the summer, that info comes with the acceptance. Classes are at orientation.
Good luck everyone!

Thanks! That makes sense. Is this for admitted students who don't know where they are going yet but have been accepted or for those students who have already accepted Pepp's in admission?

It is for admitted students but before the decison date. It is to help them decide or to answer any questions they may still have.

With some sleuthing, I found it will probably be on the 12th. Does anybody else think its going to be hard to get affordable plane tickets or a hotel room if we wait for acceptances, or better yet financial aid?

I agree Shrinkrap. It probably will get more expensive the closer you are to the date which can be frustrating since none of us know if we are accepted or not yet. Hopefully you can find a good deal. The red eyes are always cheaper. I am really fortunate. I live about 20 minutes away from Malibu so I am there several times a week.

I will check on the date and time and verify the Malibu reception ASAP. There are also receptions around the country if you are unable to get to California. I will see what I can find on those:)

Thanks JC; I apprecciate it. Problem is we have not visited Pep yet, it's very high on D's list , and she hasn't even been there! We hope to get a lot out of our visit if she gets in. And were just in N. Cal, but if still takes some coordinating.

I checked my calendar and it is the 12th, as far as times etc. I hope to have that by tomorrow. It is worth the trip...truly a beautiful campus and view!

Definitely take JC's advice! Pepp was rated the number one most beautiful college in the United States. I think for 2008 Princeton is number one. It is well worth the trip. You HAVE to see Hero's Garden. It is breathtaking! The views are just stunning. I don't even attend the school (yet) and the security guards know who I am because I go so often. I can't imagine a more beautiful place to go to college. Pepperdine has so much more to offer than just the view. The pictures are great but I find that to really get a sense of the campus and people you really have to visit in person. I take my friends and family there all the time just because I love it so much. Sorry, I'm rambling. As mentioned, there are other places outside of California where you can go to that will do just fine and hopefully your D will get in and you can see it for yourself! Good Luck! :)

I echo Shrinkrap-IF are kids are admitted we definately will make the trip as it is very high on their list and have not visited yet.

Waiting until after April will make airfares even hgher, so it is frustrating to be in this holding pattern. Good luck to everyone!
