<p>Like the title says, I was admitted for the summer of 2011, however it would be difficult for me to attend since I live in China and it basically means for me to jump on a plane to Penn right afterwards, and still my parents won't be able to come along since my little brother still has school. </p>
<p>So my question is, is there a way for me to change my summer acceptance into a fall acceptance? Would they withdraw their decision if I choose not to attend in the summer.
If your stats matter then here are mine:
GPA: 3.4
SAT: CR: 650 M: 710 WR: 740

<p>I was in your exact same situation since I could not go to Penn State over the summer. What I did was write them an appeal letter. I continued to bother them about it through e-mails, asking tons of questions, etc. I finally wrote them an actual letter, explaining my circumstances and how I wanted to raise money (it makes sense because my family is dirt poor) and I just got a summer job. I also explained how I was going to go to Korea to teach English and make more money on the side, which are all true. I checked Mypennstate and it changed to Fall after three weeks! Then the actual acceptance mail came again a week after I checked the website.</p>
<p>Just be honest with them when you write your appeal. Explain ANYTHING you need to, but make it short, concise, and down to the point. Don’t try and make some sappy story. Just explain so and so and you might be able to switch to Fall.</p>
<p>OK thanks but the thing is it’s not that I have to make money on the side, but that I don’t have enough time to get ready and make it on time. Would this be an acceptable reason?</p>
<p>It’s definitely a reasonable excuse - a lot of people have things to do before they go off to college. Just make sure you specify what you have to do so they wont think that you just want to be switched to party and chill for the summer.</p>
<p>Ok I just found out that my graduation is on June 30th. Which means I can’t make it for first day, I’m really worried that they will withdraw their offer if I dont go to the summer session though…</p>
<p>And also, the school isn’t replying my emails. Help anyone?</p>
