I applied to California State University, Northridge as a Communication Studies major. I just logged in and saw "admitted for Fall 11." Wow, that was fast!! This is my backup school as I'm hoping to get into UCLA.

csu is on rolling admission, you get your acceptance/reject in a week.

hey, when exactly did you apply? (i’ve applied and havent got any notice yet)

also, did they notify you through mail or Email?

thanks

@mattac I applied on 10/1/10. Have you had all of your transcripts sent to CSUN? If not, do this ASAP. Then again after Spring '11. You will not get an acceptance response until they receive current transcripts.

what was ur GPA? when does the rolling admission end?? if i send my app tonight and my counselor send my transcript 10 business days later do you think I will know whether I got accepted or not by the end of this month? oh and did you send letter of recommendations w/ ur transcript?

i had no idea. good to know and i will do this asap.

is their a deadline as to when i should do this?

thanks

@xeyrie My GPA is 3.40, but anyone in the high 2’s should get in. Apply and have your transcripts sent ASAP.

@mattac Same thing happened last year, a bunch of people were admitted in Fall, while others were waiting with no idea haha I’m not sure about deadlines, but send transcripts ASAP.

I see. so basically, by sending in the transcripts this should make my acceptance notice earlier?

i have a quick question. where did u “log in” to see that ur admitted? did they send u an email w/ a certain ID and password? and when did they send it to since you applied on 10/1

Did you really get accepted that soon? even if you’re a CA resident, October is way too early, applications are not even available until November. AnywayI applied there as well but I’m from Florida so maybe it might take a while since I’m not from Florida. I might really go there, it seems like a good school so I might see u someday if u decide to go there.

did everyone else get a letter or e-mail with a login and password. I don’t know what happened but I never got my letter but I searched the webportal for my ID and I have one BUT since I don’t know the temporary password I can’t login.

^Same here I haven’t received any letters or emails from Northridge except the one they send notifying me they received my application. I checked the webportal for my id and they have it too but I can’t do anything with it because I never received my password. I sent in my transcript on Jan. 3rd to see if that was the issue but I haven’t received anything thus far. Anyone know what’s going on?

^^^ I called them (818)677-1400 and they reset my password for me. You should do the same! They also have a email set up for you (I had no clue). I also just sent in my transcripts today through priority mailing so hopefully I can get some word from them. I just hate how they left us in the dark! You know what’s sad, the same thing happened to me with SFSU!

Ohh thanks for the heads up. I never had a problem with SFSU though. Best of luck to you.

Yes, I was accepted days after I submitted my app. I suggest you send in transcripts ASAP!

Applicant
You have applied for Undergraduate admissions as a Transfer Student for the Fall Semester 2011, as a Resident. You have indicated an academic plan of Comm Studies - Dept Major.
You have been provisionally admitted to CSUN.
Intent to Register (Click here to Accept/Decline Admission)
Due Date: 07/01/2011

Congrats on your acceptance but I believe CSUN isn’t very hard to get into. Especiall if you are CA resident.

Yay I got accepted too… What’s Northridge’s ranking amongst cal states? Are they average?

CSUN is ranked somewhere in the middle for regional Universities in the West. It’s a decent school for Business and Communication in LA/Hollywood. I’m hoping for UCLA or UCI, but CSUN is a decent backup.

Hey everyone I found out about three weeks ago that I got accepted which I’m pretty excited about. I’m from out of state and I’m still waiting on USC before I make my final decision. Anyway since most of you are possible prospective students, does any of you guys plan on living on campus?

The dorms for the frosh, film and biz students are decent. Better places to live not very far away. Realize la metro is huge! Great public transportation but faster to get around with a car.
