<p>the politically correct version of AA is your definition. the true version is being a minority and subsequently being accepted with, many times, very inferior grades just so colleges can claim diversity and not being prejudice. if it was in fact your definition, white kids with less than financial situations would also benefit...that doesn't nearly happen as often...actually, white kids looking for substantial financial help often get the short end of a stick. colleges say they are need blind admissions but thats bs bc any college would rather take the student paying the full tuition vs a student (same stats) looking for the full cost to be covered . i don't want to come across as prejudice, bc im not..it just is what it is...and thats a wrong trying to right a wrong.</p>

<p>No one is jealous...here's the real deal, if you got in at UMD because of AA, that is fine, but that does not mean you will graduate from UMD. </p>
<p>I am a parent, and I have graduated from college (also have a Masters), I truly mean it when I wish you the very best, but an attitude that you have right now, will make your life unhappy...just imagine moving into your dorm the 1st day, and saying I got in with a 1530, when your roommates best friend was rejected with a 2200...not a good way to introduce yourself to a stranger or start the year.</p>
<p>Gloating is not becoming. You must make the gradewhen you are there...so instead of cheering over the fact that someone else, didn't get in and that you took their spot I strongly suggest that you hit the books and get ready to attend classes with 200+ students and a Prof. who does not care about AA.</p>
