Admitted to UCB, IGETC not done

Hi everyone,
I got admitted to UCB this last Friday, and after all of the excitement, I was reading through the conditions of admission page. Listed under the conditions of admission is a class I have to get a grade of B or better in, which isn’t an issue. However underneath the conditions of admission section there is a required documentation section. This section states: " I. Immediately submit:
Official Full UC IGETC Certification, if reported on your application. See the transfer counselor at your community college to request your official certification. Visit assist.org for information about IGETC. We do not accept partial IGETC Certifications."
On my UC application I indicated that I had completed IGETC (Because I had, it was just a Partial IGETC), and when I asked a counselor if I should complete a full IGETC she told me that a partial IGETC was fine and that I didn’t need to! I’m kind of freaking out, but there is some silver lining:

  1. I am a Chemical Engineering Major, and IGETC is neither required nor recommended
  2. Of the IGETC courses I completed, 12 units directly articulate to UCB courses
  3. IGETC is not listed as a condition to my admission, but rather under the required documents section
  4. In the Assist agreement for my major, all it states regarding IGETC is that it isn’t required

Any thoughts before I contact the office of admissions on Monday?

Contact directly to find out if the error on the application (that you completed IGETC when you did not) matters. If it does not, get assurance in writing that your admission will not be rescinded for that error.

The UCB College of Chemistry accepts IGETC to fulfill the English Reading and Composition requirement, but not the rest of the breadth requirement, according to Admission | College of Chemistry . The College of Chemistry’s breadth requirements are described at Chemical Engineering Major Lower Division Requirements | College of Chemistry ; humanities and social studies courses already taken at community college may be applied to it (other than the upper division course).

This is all very helpful, thank you
