Admitted Undeclared Questions!

I was admitted to UCSD for the fall semester, but as undeclared, (I must have ranked 2 impacted majors). How hard is it to declare or get into the impacted programs? Biology specifically. From the website it seems to indicated that you must petition to switch into the impacted major if not admitted directly into the program. Will this cause me to have to take an extra year, and how difficult / uncommon is it? Or am I misunderstanding the process completely.

Thanks in advance!

I am in the same boat. Advice anyone?

Same here! I read that you can change your major after your enrolled, but to a nonimpacted one only. If you want to do Bio you have to attend for at least a year and then submit a exceptional student app or something line that to do Bio, where the people with the highest GPA get priority…
I’m gonna try to get into Biochemistry or chem. Neuroscience was my first choice .
