Has anyone been admitted or heard of anyone been admitted to Yale SCEA with a SAT score about 20XX? I now have a 20XX (nearly 2100) SAT score but is not sure what I should do about applying to Yale. Here are my options: (I'm an int'l student)
1. retake SAT I in Nov, but not sure if I can get a better score like 2200+ and apply to Yale SCEA
2. retake SAT I later, as in Dec or Jan, and apply to Yale RD

Apply Regular Decision. SCEA takes the best aplicants and scores are only one part ot the application, yours may send you to the defered pile for regular decision anyways.

There is no benefit to Y to accept SCEA anyone other than the very top candidates that they would accept from ANY applicant pool.

OP, when you ask a question like this, be sure to be careful about which advice you listen to. Everything the above posters have said is absolutely true–and obviously entomom has no reason to tell you lies. However, someone like me, who is applying SCEA, might try to convince you to go RD.

Still, it is true that a compelling applicant with a low SAT (by Yale’s standards) would likely get deferred to RD anyway.
