Who is going to Western and what are your GPA and SAT? And; why did you pick Western?

I've been accepted. GPA: 3.29, SAT: 1260 (690 V, 570M). It's not my first choice, and Im praying hard for the UW.

i've applied -- no response yet -- GPA 3.4, ACTS: 22 ... i'm deciding between this and Evergreen...

I'm in a community college now I haven't decided between Western or Eastern. I actually am going to look into both's business programs. I have 5 more quarters to go then I can transfer

In my opinion, for those deciding whether or not to go to Western..the only two schools that I would choose over this is WSU or UW (state-wise).

Private wise (Gonzaga, SPU, SU, Whitworth, Whitman)

Western's a good school, and they're not that selective which is good.

Wow- you’re off the mark when you put WSU ahead of Western
From a selectivity standpoint:
• State Schools
UW Honors, UW, Western, WSU, Central then Eastern
(Not sure where to put Evergreen- don’t care)
• Private (Northwest)
Reed (crazy hard), Whitman (Low merit aid), Lewis & Clark (good school-pretty liberal), Willamette and University of Puget Sound (same schools different state, UPS is prettier), Gonzaga,
Also Rans: Whitworth, Seattle U, Seattle Pacific, U of Portland, PLU. Then St. Martins

Western is actually fairly selective, at least a newspaper article said they accepted less than 1/3 of applications.

I am taking my D and a friend to visit during admitted students weekend. They haven't visited before & I am so happy to take a friend along as it will help my D more relaxed so she can pay more attention.

Her sister graduated from Reed, but as my D had visited her quite often during her years there- said she didn't even want to apply.
( I think mainly because it is so small- also not so ethnically diverse- Portland is very cool though)

I wantUW, I know that UW is much more competitive than you would think- also, I think you can get a better undergrad education at a smaller school unless you are someone who is really going to fight for it.

Same with Evergreen, I think some of the programs are fantastic and the instructors strong, but you have to be pretty focused to take advantage of what they have to offer. However, if you are, the profs will be more than happy to work with you as far as you want to take it.

would you reccommend western to someone out of state?

I do all the time.

According to the Princeton Review, WWU accepted 74% of applicants last year, with 41% (a good yield) deciding to attend. UW accepted about 68%, with a 44% yield.
