I have a uc gpa of a 3.71(which concerns me) and an SAT of 1380. Which uc schools do u think I will get in room

EC’s, HS course rigor and Intended major? UC GPA is below the averages of all but UCR and UCM. Write some compelling essays and make sure you have a couple of safety schools on your list since the UC’s continue to get more competitive each year. Intended major will be a big factor on your chances.

Freshman admits for UC GPA of 3.40-3.79
UCB: 2%
UCLA: 3%
UCSD: 6%
UCD: 11%
UCSB: 13%
UCI: 16%
UCSC: 47%
UCR: 64%
UCM: 80%

2016 numbers are available here: https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/freshman-admissions-summary

UCR/UCM and UCSC are the mist realistic options.

Good luck.

You are also well qualified for most majors at all the CSUs except Cal Poly SLO. I would encourage you to explore a few of those too. SDSU , CSULB, for example, offer a great education in in most fields. Sonoma offers an almost private school experience and has several stand out programs.

Any idea what you want to study?

I’m looking to go into Pre Med/Microbiology and also i have lots of ec’s like sports and clubs also I took 4 ap’s junior and sophomore year. The academics athe my school, Leland HS, is known to be extremely difficult that’s why my GPA is where it is. I might also be able to raise my ACT to a 33 would that help my chance at a UC or UW. @Gumbymom @NCalRent

The competitiveness of your HS will be taken into account along with higher test scores so it can help your chances at the UC’s. With record #'s of applicants at the UC’s, it is always advisable to apply widely and have some safety schools on your list that you are willing to attend no matter what.

For bio/premed what schools do u recommend I look in? @Gumbymom

What other schools besides ucs and csus do u recommend I apply to? @Gumbymom @NCalRent

What is your college budget?

There are many private schools that would be good options such as Occidental, Claremont colleges/USC (Reaches unless you can bump up the test scores), Santa Clara, Chapman, University of the Pacific, University of San Francisco, University of San Diego to name a few if you want to stay in California. You could also look the WUE schools if you are interested in Out of State Colleges: http://wue.wiche.edu/search_results.jsp?searchType=all

Pre-Med in California is super competitive so there might be an advantage if you do Undergrad out of state if financially feasible.

In addition ot the CSUs I mentioned above, CP Pomona Fullerton and perhaps Chico (if you are looking for a collge town experience) are worth a look. As is UCR, UCM and UCSC. Privates, I’d look at Santa Clara, Loyola Marymont and USD - though they are expensive and your stats probably won’t get you enough merit aid to bring them in line with CA publics.

WUE schools are a great option. The list is huge and includes Hawaii, Boise, Reno, Oregon Institute of Tech - a huge variety. Spend some time trolling the list, see what catches your eye.
