i emailed my interviewer and called her ms._______, but she replied and signed with her first name? do i now call her by her first name?

It’s always good to use an interviewer’s title unless directly invited to use an interviewer’s first name, so “Ms.” would still be appropriate.

ughh I already responded to one email and addressed her by first name because I thought it’d be ok…I’m being awkward before the interview’s even started.

I need to reply to her again, would it be weird to switch to “Ms. [name]”? I just feel really awkward using titles in emails where there’s a casual tone.

Sire and Madam generally worked very well for me.

More formal is always safe. Most adults have their first names in their e-mails.

If she signed the message with just her first name (as opposed to first and last), then I’d take that as an invitation to use her first name.

In any case, don’t feel too bad about it. It’s not that big a deal, and you can easily go back to Ms. if you decide you need to.

Ya, I’ve always used “Mr.” and “Ms.” but a couple of my interviewers have been really young (like graduated in 2007 or 08) and I feel kind of awkward. But I figure it’s better to be too polite than not. lol
