Wrote half my app in the last 3 hours, so unsurprised didn’t get far. Don’t think I got past the first round. @wistfulwords Did it notify you if you made it past the first round in the email? Didn’t get an extra note so I assume it didn’t happen

I got rejected too, but I’ve got another year to try so I’m not too upset

I think this year was way more competitive than last year judging by the marketing and sheer increase in applications (i think there were ~150 more applicants this year) making it to the last round is basically the same caliber as those who were selected. Congrats to everyone but just because you weren’t paired with a mentor doesn’t mean you have less of a chance to be publish in litmags, win awards, be accepted into a good college for writing, etc.

Rejected and made it into final round for prose but tbh idk how meaningful that is bc I made it into the final round last year for poetry and my poems were terrible
yea rejected but made it to the final round. i’m a little bummed but i also think that writing is super subjective and once you’re comparing good writing to good writing then it’s really just the little things that get you there

hi first post as a longtime lurker on this site/forum! was super scared and checking my phone all through my 2nd period because of all the responses saying they’d already gotten their email, but i got mine at about 12 and was accepted! very excited to participate this summer
