Advanced Calculus

Hi,

I took AP Calculus BC as a sophomore this past year, and I plan to take AP Statistics next year as a junior.

Would it be detrimental to me in terms of college admissions to top schools (Ivy's, MIT, Harvey Mudd, U. Michigan, etc.) if I didn't take an advanced calculus course such as Multivariable Calculus or Linear Algebra (and instead took AP Statistics, which has a reputation as being an easy class) only because my school doesn't offer one? I plan to find somewhere where I can take advanced math classes senior year; my school doesn't have dual enrollment and the community colleges are all booked out.

And how much of a boost is it to have taken advanced math courses while in high school?

Thank you for your time!

Most people don’t take those classes in high school.

Have you looked at local universities, though (as opposed to community college)? This is how I take dual-enrollment classes.
