I know that in undergraduate admissions, applying early decision can substantially increase one's odds of admission. Does anyone know whether a similar trend occurs in law school admissions? Any thoughts as to whether it would be better to apply early decision vs. just early in the rolling admissions cycle?

Thanks!

I’ve heard that there’s a slight preference for ED, but I don’t have data to back that up. However, ED also means no chance at merit aid, since the school knows they have you either way.

Actually, Northwestern offers big merit aid to ED applicants, as does George Washington. Of course, those ED programs are competitive.
