Advantages on joining an engineering fraternity?

Hey guys,

Not sure if this is a repeat but I was wondering if it is really worth it to join a professional fraternity for engineering. I'm not really looking into it for the partying, I think that networking after college is really helpful when looking for a job. My friend is pledging a pre-med frat and he said that the chances of getting into med school doubles when you're a brother. However, engineering doesn't require any special graduate school and I'm not sure how being in the frat really gives you the upper hand. Specifically, I was looking at Theta Tau. If anyone has any experience with this please drop a comment. Thanks,

I know that as a member of an engineering sorority, we get emails from alums about job openings (full time and internships) at their companies. Also several of our alums come to recruit. So I’d assume the benefits are very similar as a Theta Tau brother.
