Okay so I've heard that there are different qualifiers along with being a URM that make the status effective (SES, country of origin, first generation, etc..) and one I hear a lot is overcoming adversity. I'm a U.S dual citizen (born in Mexico) and first generation, but this is all stated on my common app. I chose not to write about overcoming adversity in my common app essay, but my teacher mentioned it in my recommendation letter. I also briefly mentioned it under "unusual circumstances" because of finances, but did not get in depth. Is that enough information for the "overcoming adversity" thing to even matter? Or would I had to have written a whole essay about it? I just really didn't want to write a lot about it...

Thank you so much! So jumbled up from this college stuff... Any information is appreciated. Thanks :]
