I was talking to a friend at UT-Austin -- he told me they have one of the best advertising depts. in the country. I am feeling somewhat reluctant to apply there because -- I might as well say it blunty -- the acceptance is rather easy. Should I consider another major related to advertising (psychology, journalism, mass communications etc.) and go to UT-Austin for grad school? My hopes are to get a good background in creative (art) advertising while having a grad degree (or the reverse). Anyone know of any high ranking [undergrad] advertising departments?

Chapman University has a strong Public Relations / Advertising major. It's part of their film school, which is highly respected.

Southern Methodist University is ranked one of the best schools for Advertising!!! It has a top-noch Arts (Journalism,Film,Theatre, Advertising, Public Relations ect!) Check it out!

Back when I was trying to figure out my parachute color I asked the same kind of questions. You might want to inquire at the American Association of Advertising Agencies
