I'm a freshman planning on transferring for fall 2009. Originally I came to college planning to major in biology because I am pre-med. However, over the last semester I have become very interested in economics and think I would like to major in that, but still fulfill all the pre-med requirements. My EC's are very widespread (club tennis, bio research assistant, student government senator, elementary school tutor). However, I have fallen in love with the ILR program at Cornell and would like to find some EC's that relate to my interest in economics. At my university I can either join the Economics Tutoring Association, the Economics Association, or the International Economics and Finance Society. I would be sufficiently interested in any of them, but I only have the time in my schedule to join one and still be actively involved in it. Does anyone know which would be best as preparation for something like ILR at Cornell, and would be most valued on an application? Thanks for any insight on this subject!
