Advice about English Courses

Ok, so last year I was moved from English 9H to 10H in September. This year I took AP Lang and Comp, and next year I'll be taking AP Lit. I need 4 English credits to graduate, so does anyone have suggestions about what I should take senior year? My counselor wants to put me into Independent Study, but I'd rather not. Should I take two English electives? (This year's valedictorian went through the same process, but the electives she took will not be offered next year. My school is experiencing an exodus of teachers; we're losing 3 in the English dept. to retirement alone, so I'm not sure which electives will still be offered.) Will colleges put a question mark next to my name if they see that I'm taking a less rigorous English course senior year?

How bout not taking AP Lit next year and take 11H (is that Honors English 11?) and do AP Lit your Senior year.

In my school, you have three options for English 3 -- regular, honors, or AP Lang & Comp. You're not allowed to repeat the course (as in going from 3H to AP Lang & Comp, or vice versa), because focus is on the Regents. The AP class has a double period and spends the first half of the year preparing for the Regents. We take it in January, and the second semester is spent on prep for the AP test.

For the juniors who take Eng 3Reg/H and want to take AP their senior year, only Lit is offered. They can register for the Lang. test if they want to, though. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll see if I can take 4H next year, and AP Lit senior year.
