My D is satisfied with her SAT I (old style) scores, but now she is considering some schools that demand New SAT. If she sends her existing scores to all schools by September and then takes the new SAT in Oct. or Nov.'05--will the new scores be sent only to the "new" schools we request then or will they also be sent as "updates" to the old schools--even without our requesting this?

In other words, can she report new scores only to those schools that demand them by taking the New test at a later date?

College Board sends all scores to a college that exist at the time the request to send is made; tests taken after that time are not sent to that college unless another request to do so is made. Thus, that fall test will be sent to only those new colleges but those new colleges will also get all prior scores.

If your hope is to prevent those original colleges from seeing your fall score if its bad, you have another issue to deal with that requires checking with your high school -- many high schools stick all your test scores on the official high school transcript that is sent to colleges, so not ordering it to be sent by College Board does not necessarily mean the college will not learn of the fall score.

drusba and Variance have given opposite responses.

Can anyone resolve this question? I did not mean to use Score select, I meant to send some scores early and then specify only one or two schools on the later request after a later test date. We don't have to worry about school reporting of scores.

Thats correct. I think what variance was trying to say is that the schools that you later request to have scores sent to will also get your old scores.
