Advice? Anyone? Please?

I'm currently a sophomore at Florida State and am a Biology major. Currently, my GPA is at a 3.61, with my science GPA being a 3.3. However, this past fall semester was very brutal on me and I received a grade of a C- in my Organic I class (barely passed- BARELY). Seeing as how I've only once ever received a C in a class previous to this instance, the grade is bothering me very much and I am thinking of just retaking Organic I this coming summer in order to improve my grade for the class and for it to not lessen my chances of enrolling in a medical school after graduation. I've heard different opinions regarding my situation and don't know if retaking the course would be worth it or not. I'm currently enrolled in Organic 2 , but don't know whether I should postpone taking it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hmmm...unsure really, here are two scenarios:

1) You retake the class, but remember both grades still show up on the transcript when AMCAS views them, so the difference will be miniscule. You will also post-pone your pre-req of Orgo. II, but it won't make much of a difference because you are still a sophmore.

2) You just take Orgo II, you might be hurt by some concepts you missed in Orgo. I and if you get a bad grade in the second section it won't look good. But, if you do good, a string of your pre-reqs will be completed which will allow you to take other classes and study for the MCAT at an earlier stage.

Just think about both scenarios and come up with a choice.

if i were you, I'd retake orgo1 to not only boost your gpa up, but also to get a better understanding of the material.
