Advice / Chances?

Hey guys! I’m hoping to apply to George Washington next year. Earlier this summer I was thinking of applying EA I but, after hearing that financial aid isn’t as good in EA, I started thinking about applying regular decision because I really need the aid. George Washington is my dream school, so I don’t mind having some debt, I just don’t want it to be substantial.
Here are my stats:
GPA: 4.0/4.6 (at graduation, currently 4.3)
SAT: 1260 (maybe planning to retake?)
7 APs - WHistory, APUSH, Bio, Stats, English 11&12, Government
Senior year course load:
AP English
Anatomy
AP Bio
Computer Graphics
AP Stats
AP Government
Extracurricular:
Junior Marshall
HAM Radio (9,10,12)
Academic Team (10-12)
Sketches (10-12)
Book Club (9-12)
Drama Club (9-12)
Forensics (11,12)
~History Club/ Model UN- planning to do it if they have it this year (12th)
Senior Beta Club
Writer’s Block tutor (11), around 100 hours
Elementary School tutor (12), around 40 hours by the end of year
Internship at a web magazine over the summer between 11&12, continuing through first semester of 12th
Volunteer at Science Museum (12), around 30 hours by end of the year

Any advice about the financial aid/ when to apply would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

I don’t think there is any validity to a claim that EA applicants get less merit aid. You might see something like this with ED but not EA. Your test score is much weaker than your GPA or ECs. Retake SAT if you can

After looking at the college website, it turns out it is ED, not EA @Wje9164be

I think that you’ll almost certainly get accepted, but I can’t speak to how much aid you’ll receive. If money is a major factor for you don’t forget to have a safety school or two. It’s quite possible you can get some very generous scholarships elsewhere with your stats.

@NHuffer great, thank you!!

Probably- you could even get into an Ivy with those stats. Plus, you’re hot so let’s hope so.
