I’m going to be a senior this autumn in high school who has taken many AP classes, is involved with many extracurricular activities, and has never gotten any grades below A’s and B’s. But junior year I received a D in my calculus AB class, and I’m absolutely worried that I won’t get into a UC because of this. The UCs I want to have a go for are UCLA, UC Davis, UCSD, and UCSC.

And another thing: I heard that SAT scores are important too, but I got an 1800 on my first try (I haven’t gotten the scores yet for my second try) and I don’t know if that will influence a UC’s decision to accept me or not? My mother tells me that I need at least a 2000 for UCs to accept me?
