Hello everyone,
I am a junior year transfer student of Bioengineering at UCSD. I just finished my first quarter at UCSD and got back my results. I got a 2.0 gpa overall. I know its a pretty bad gpa.
I need some advice as to how can I bring my gpa upto 3.0.
I am taking Bioeng 1, Bioeng 130, Chem 140A, Math20E next quarter.
Does the course load look too bad?
I would really appreciate if someone could provide me with an honest opinion.
Also, I would like to get into research, where should I start?

Since your major is bioengineering, you must seriously consider grad school, and therefore you must work on getting a good gpa. My question to you is: why was your gpa so low?

you should really just take 3 classes a quarter unless you can get your grades up, it’s still a full load. taking an extra quarter or two to graduate is better than ending up with a bad gpa or potentially not even graduating; i’m pretty sure a 2.0 is the lowest gpa you can graduate with from the engineering dept at ucsd, and your classes aren’t exactly going to get much easier.
