Well ever since I was 12, I’ve wanted to go to Stanford for undergrad. But after slackin off somewhat in High School, I deferred my number one to Berkeley, but still dreamt of Stanford for grad school. Well now I’ve been rejected to Berkeley and will probably attend UC Davis. I’m going to work my butt off and try to transfer into Stanford after my freshman year. Any advice on what to do while I attend Davis in order to maximize my chances of getting in as a transfer to Stanford? Comments?
High School Stats:
Weighted GPA from 10-12 about 3.8
SAT I Math: 710
SAT I Verbal: 650

write your Essay not about why Stanford is your dream school, but about what you offer Stanford, and what Stanford offers you that UCD does not.

BigBrother, care to elaborate? I know the 7.4% admit rate is stiff, OBVIOUSLY. But if I truly work hard as in 4.0 college GPA, is it still going to be impossible?

It really won't be just about a 4.0. They can get all of those they want and from more competitive schools than UCD. You need a hook, but most of all a reason why you NEED to be at Stanford. Research with a prof or a Silicon Valley company. A major few schools have in an area where you've done work. Just a 4.0 from Davis isn't what they're looking for.

7.4% is harsher than there freshman admit rate I have to second the dont get your hopes up,to transfer to a top 10 school you need to have a better reason than its my dream school ie research if youre really good putnam fellow(pass to a pretty much any school)

BTW, if you are a transfer student, does college look at your SAT? does that mean we have to take SAT in college?
because I'm in similar situation, I have about 3.9 GPA at high school and 1300 SAT, and I got accepted to UCI, but I'm planning to transfer to either UCLA or UCSD. Do you think I can transfer to either one after just one year? what is the requirement for transfer student?
