Advice for a Waitlisted Student

Hey do you think it would be advisable to edit and revise all my essays that I sent to UChicago? I feel that some of them needed a bit of a revision. Do you think this is advisable and necessary?

It appears to be in accord with this from the U of C website:

Wait list – When you get a decision in the mail, you’ll either get a letter of rejection, a letter of admittance, or a letter offering a place on the waitlist. We think you know what the first two mean. If you’re offered a spot on the wait list though, you need to either accept or reject it. If you want to still be considered for admission to Chicago, you should claim your spot on the wait list and start talking to your admissions counselor. Tell him or her how awesome you are, how much you love Chicago, and send in more credentials to prove your wonderfulness. The rates of acceptance of waitlisted candidates vary greatly from year to year.

so I should revamp my essays and send additional materials?

I think I would send additional materials rather than revised old ones. If you can come up with an additional rec or two that might be useful.

all right ye I will def send another rec, possibly 2. Im just really worried that I wont get off the waitlist as I really like Chicago but have lower sats than most people. :(. I really want to spend my next 4 yrs there
