Advice for Columbia Transfers (apologies for the Dr. Who reference)

Hey All,
I (think) I'll be entering CC as a sophomore transfer this fall, and have been trying to find the answers for dozens of questions by scouring the transfer and Columbia forums. Since I haven't seen any extensive threads with school specific transfer advice, I figured it couldn't hurt to start one. I was wondering whether there were any previous or current Columbia transfers/students who had wisdom to offer on the experience and what to expect.

Questions:
1.) How do other students think of us? Is there a stigma attached to transfers?

2.) What --historically--ends up happening for transfer housing?

3.) Should we anticipate sub-par courses for first semester?

4.) How well do transfers integrate themselves into the social scene?

5.) Feeling lazy, so general advice please? What have been your trials and tribulations as transfers at Columbia, and if you had a time machine (or TARDIS if you prefer), what would you tell yourself prior to beginning your Columbia career? All thoughts and advice are appreciated!

bump…? 10 char

What were your stats to be a Columbia transfer?

Sorry, supra, that’s not the point of my thread…although if you’re curious you can look through my posts on the transfer forum to find them. Suffice to say transfer acceptance rates are much lower than freshman ones, so it’s not as if it becomes any easier to get in later on.
