My D is planning to enroll at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and must travel there by herself for the honors college orientation in late May. Need to keep costs down, D will fly to Birmingham, but what is safe and reliable, (and cheapest) way to get to UA? Amtrak? Greyhound? Can anyone share their child's experiences? Thx.

I suggest you post this on the University of Alabama board. They are very helpful there. Lots of out of state parents with great advice and experiences.

Yes…please post your question on the Alabama forum (link above)…lots of OOS students and parents posting and they know the best way depending on where you’re coming from. Since your D will be flying to B’ham, then the shuttle will likely be the best way, but others may have better suggestions.

Some use this…
