Advice for General Chem w/lab

I'm going to Duke University in the fall and plan on taking General Chem w/ lab my first semester. I am very worried about this class. I took AP Chemistry in high school and struggled greatly. Also, my teacher was horrible.

Can anyone give me some advice that will help me excel in this class? Any websites or books that would help me alot?

Also, I am worried about the lab component. When I took chemistry in high school, the teacher did not prepare us at all for labs. I'm really kind of clueless when it comes to lab and lab reports. Can someone suggest anything that will help me?

The fact that you took AP Chemistry puts you at a slight(ly INSANELY HIGH) advantage! CHILL OUT, SWEETIE! The key to general and organic classes is to go into them with an open mind. Everyone's different, so ratemyprofessor comments might not be too accurate. Be brave, and know that you'll OWN the material. Make silly jokes to remember important concepts and teach others who might be struggling (this is truly how you learn). You might actually find that you like the subject. For me, I was terrified of the class at the beginning, but it turned out to be one that I actually found enjoyable.

The nature of the lab depends on the school.

Don't worry, you're in the same boat as most others. They are not going to expect you to know how to use equipment/write lab reports prior to matriculation, they'll teach you.
