Hello, I am currently a recently graduated senior with a BA in history from UCLA. As a transfer student I was unfortunately unable to really adjust to life at UCLA or make any lasting connections to the university. I was not involved in almost any campus activities, and did not partake in internships or volunteer work at UCLA, much to my regret. So as of today, I am a history graduate, with a keen interest for history, mediocre gpa (3.52), and no relative experience, the only thing being part time tutoring. The fields that I am currently interested in is going to graduate school for history in order to become a college professor, becoming a lawyer, or joining the foreign service. I want to have a clear idea of what I want to do before devoting the rest of my life into a particular field. I am still relatively young, at least in my opinion (21), but feel like I need to take a direction in my life this upcoming summer and fall. Does anyone have any advice for someone in my situation? Any comments will help, I am currently contemplating on gaining experience through programs such as AmeriCorps, City Year, or an internship at a Law Firm, and various other ideas. I regretted not being as active in my undergraduate years, so I really want to get involved in anything to not only boost up my resume but at the same time truly discover what I want to do with my life. Thanks for hearing me ramble and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
