I would love to major in biology and was wondering if Northwestern would be the right place. What else do you guys find so appealing about Northwestern?

************you are not a junior and i think you are pretending you are so you can get ideas for your "why northwestern" essay

lol. pwned.

In case jessy09 is right, I think the OP needs to look at NU's website. Why would you go through the trouble of deceitfully trying to get information about NU? I don't see how it would be a problem for anyone to suggest a few things about the school.

I am also writing this essay and it probably could be better, but I can't find information that is really all that objective. Best of luck!

A senior pretending to be a junior, I find that ironic. The extent people will go to...

If jessy09 is right, perhaps you really don't deserve to go to Northwestern.

wow u just got owned like no other! thats the most hilarious thing ive ever seen on this board. but i too am having trouble with that essay :(

...

...
pwned
you are sad.

anyways, that essay was the easiest for me. maybe because i'm applying to medill and i know specifically what program(s) i want to be involved in...but if you do enough lurking around the websites for WCAS/Medill/SESP or whatever program you're applying to you should be able to find something that especially draws you into NU. if not the curriculum/academics, you can always talk about Evanston & Chicago, relatively small size people-wise for an university, whatever you'd like!

^not sure if that will help any of you but..good luck!

I second whoever said that this individual does not belong in a school like Northwestern. Honestly, your little deceitful games will not help you thrive in college, even if you get in.

I love you jessy...

this guy has another thread like this in the duke forum, i hope you people don't fall for that trick either.

i love you too mario.

unfortunately, some of y'all already sent him your essays

sigh....academic honor already broken. why do people do this?

people's moral/ethical standards have fallen, like 7andre7's.

he will probably just come back to CC with another username, cause obviously he is not going to use this one again.

bump......

or just post again with the same username.. wow.

haha that's great.
and just wondering, i'm not familiar with the term "pwned" if someone could tell me what it means. thanks, i don't really know all the lingo

pwned..is just a popular synonym for owned. hehehe.

Wow, whoever posted the original question, sorry everyone's being so brutal. If you truly are a junior, I visited the campus last March, and the most appealing things were the campus aesthetics, the awesome gym, the beautiful architecture, and the incredible friendliness of the students. I was interested in journalism, and the program at Northwestern was awesome. Everyone I talked to said the teachers were really accessible and helpful. The school itself seems amazing. Evanston has awesome restaraunts, and what little bits of Chicago I got to see were surprisingly clean. I also LOVED that the campus was literally right on the lake. I'm from the coast, so going to college away from water was going to be a definite downer for me, until I found Northwestern. If you are actually a senior fishing for ideas, why are you even applying to Northwestern if you don't know why you want to go there? And is it really fair to take someone else's spot who truly wants to be there?

And PS: Oregon State University has an AWESOME science department. Even though it's a state school, I would definitely check it out if I were you. Northwestern is more journalism and engineering and business and stuff.

if you read his past posts (from his profile), 7andre7 says that he is a senior applying to Northwestern.

lizzy20, maybe RHandscom was just trying to give 7andre7 a dose of his own medicine, telling him science isn't happening at NU.
