advice for prospective reaches

Hey everyone, I'm just trying to figure out some reach schools to apply to. So here's my deal-I'm officially a PA resident, but for my entire high school life I've lived in India and I'm doing the IB program over there(rising senior). I've got a couple schools which I'm pretty sure I can fall back on like UPitt and a few others in-state. I'm pretty much decided on doing medicine in the future but dont really want to go to gung-ho on all sciences and that kind of thing in college. Kinda want to diversify my education. Anyways, here are my basic stats:

SAT I- 730 W, 700 CR, 680 M(I'll be retaking this to push the math and hopefully the CR up as well. I was in the middle of finals during the last SAT so it was tough balancing both.)

SAT II-Bio/Chem pending(Taking in Nov)

9/10 GPA-3.8

IB projected scores

Bio HL-7
Chem HL-6
History HL-6
English SL-6
Math SL-6
French SL-6 or 7 not too sure

EC's- 10th grade Student Council President
11th grade prefect
Boarders Council rep.
a decent amount of Community Service
Head of the Sports Department for our upcoming school fest
Member of school basketball team since 9th grade
Shadowed a cardiologist over the summer

Yeah thats pretty much it. Ive got a few more EC's but nothing really noteworthy like the kind of things Ive seen on this forum haha. So yeah I'd really appreciate it if somebody could help me determine a few reach schools to apply to and I'll try to pick one of those to go ED. Thanks in advance.

Well, presuming Carnegie-Mellon is already on your list as a "match", I'd suggest you consider the following as "reaches":

John Hopkins, Rice, Vanderbilt, Georgetown, Emory, University of California, Berkeley (OOS), UCLA(OOS), Univ of Virginia (OOS), Swarthmore, or Lehigh

Yeah I'm pretty sure I can get into CMU. I've got legacy and I know so many profs from there because of summer courses. I'm starting to get really interested in Hopkins as you mentioned. I'm retaking the SAT's in october so hopefully i can push those scores up a bit. Really hope I can get in there. Thanks so much for your reply Calcruzer. If anyone can just evaluate my chances to JHU and some of the other colleges Calcruzer listed and help me decide which one I should try to go ED for.

Bovary:

UCLA: Reach (out of state)

bump for my topic. thanks flopsy.
